Second Bend Labs owns 8,000 acres of private land and controlled air operations above. This connected operating environment supports extended training windows and creates a distinct operating advantage for advanced UAS training and deployment-style mission execution. Airspace access across varied terrain supports full mission profiles, realistic flight operations, and the infrastructure to sustain extended rotations.

By far the best location we have operated from for our training. Long, hard days and nights in austere terrain, then a comfortable place to refuel and recharge for the next evolution. The lodging is dialed in, and the meals are out of this world. That recovery directly impacts performance and training effectiveness.

A purpose-ready 20'×20' concrete hardstand with GFI-protected ground power supports pre-flight staging, charging infrastructure, and launch operations. The surrounding open terrain provides wide, obstacle-free approach and departure corridors with clear sight lines in all quadrants — suitable for both multi-rotor and fixed-wing platforms. The adjacent 5,000 sq ft hangar accommodates fleet storage, maintenance operations, mission planning, and ground control station setup under cover.

COA Controlled Airspace

COA approved operations support repeatable UAS, autonomy, and advanced flight testing in a controlled framework. This access enables realistic operational scenarios and more rigorous system evaluation.

Deployment-Driven Targeting

Second Bend delivers dynamic training with moving targets, coordinate-based search exercises, EO payload hunts, and time-sensitive tasking aligned with real mission flow. This prepares operators for the fast-paced search, identification, and execution demands of deployment.

Multidomain Validation

Privately secured terrain across forest, field, and wetland supports integrated air, land, and water scenarios with minimal transit time. Teams can validate systems, tactics, and mission profiles across connected operational settings.

Test, Development & Repair

Onsite integration workspace with live telemetry capture and the Warp Room supports field adjustments, troubleshooting, and rapid build-to-test iteration. Teams can identify issues, make refinements, and return systems to operation quickly.

Mission-Ready Infrastructure

Secure facilities and austere terrain support DoD, OGA, and DoJ pilots, demos, training rotations, and extended stays. Existing infrastructure includes a 3,000 sq ft hangar for operations and storage with an adjacent 20 x 20 launch pad, team briefing rooms, a 2,000 sq ft gym, and purpose-built space for team bonding.

Scalable Platform Capacity

Expandable manufacturing supports fast design-to-deployment cycles for UAS components, payload integration, and mission tooling. This capability helps teams accelerate iteration, sustain testing activity, and scale output as program needs evolve.
Second Bend has left no stone unturned in accommodating the training needs of today’s warfighters, delivering operational realism across varied terrain. They handle everything end to end, saving us time we would otherwise spend on logistics and meals, so teams stay focused on training and actually relax afterward. Our first evolution at Second Bend solidified our decision to continue using the facility. For the next iteration, we’re looking to expand with additional UAS profiles and STOL operations. Second Bend has a genuine appetite for improvement and a core belief in staying flexible. They take on board input from every team fortunate enough to train there.
